When a community cares
This week I had the honor of representing The Memory Pros at a Westshore Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training here on Ohio’s north shore.
It was a week of bitter cold temperatures, but under the leadership of Julieanne Morron, Westshore CERT braved the chill to come together and learn about dementia—and, more importantly, how to support neighbors in their community who are living with it.
This was a highly engaged group that quickly embraced the training, learning practical techniques to build connection and understanding. Several participants shared that they already know friends and neighbors living with dementia and wanted to be better prepared to support them—just as good neighbors do.
When a community shows up for one another, the result is truly heartwarming.
That kind of warmth can cut through even the coldest day.
Thank you, Westshore CERT, for learning, caring, and leading with compassion
