A Health Services Executive (HSE) is a dedicated and experienced leader who holds this voluntary, advanced licensure that reflects a deep commitment to excellence in senior care leadership. Held by professionals who already possess a nursing home administrator license as well as certifications in assisted living and home and community-based services, the HSE designation represents a comprehensive understanding of the full continuum of long-term care. It signifies both breadth and depth in managing diverse care settings and meeting the evolving needs of older adults and their families. -
The Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) credential is awarded by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) to those with advanced knowledge of memory care in a variety of healthcare settings. This certification equips professionals to deliver the NCCDP’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care (ADDC) seminar, which is required for those pursuing the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) designation.

His career has been shaped by a commitment to improving outcomes through education, therapy, and person-centered care.
Through his work with inpatient skilled rehabilitation, Abelardo has successfully trained individuals with memory impairment and their caregivers in evidence-based rehabilitation strategies, demonstrating the power of therapeutic interventions to promote meaningful recovery. As a clinical instructor, he has guided new therapists in adopting best practices that prioritize dignity, empathy, and individualized care.
Abelardo currently serves as a consultant therapist for community hospice programs and is also a Certified Emergency Responder. His work in outpatient services highlights the importance of community-based care, where he supports individuals living with memory loss and those caring for them at home.
With a passion for teaching, a clinical foundation in memory care, and a dedication to person-centered solutions, Abelardo is a trusted advocate for improving the lives of those impacted by memory-related conditions.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Case Western Reserve, Abelardo worked with underserved individuals in the community as a Disease Intervention Specialist. This experience provided the underpinnings of Abelardo’s strong mission for community service. Educating patients and caregivers and coordinating care and treatment for marginalized individuals was his mission.

Abelardo has a longstanding commitment to volunteerism and community service. He has been recognized by the American Red Cross as a dedicated 16-gallon blood donor and has actively served in Disaster Relief Services, responding to emergencies and supporting individuals displaced by house fires. In addition, he serves the Westshore area as a Certified Emergency Responder, contributing to community safety efforts and readiness initiatives with professionalism and care.

Abelardo earned his Physical Therapy certification from Cleveland State University, where he also served as class president, a reflection of his leadership and dedication to the field. With clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, he has held roles as Director of Therapy Services and as a Consulting Therapist, consistently focused on delivering impactful, person-centered care.
His mission is to empower individuals receiving therapy and their caregivers, with the tools and confidence to thrive at home and within their communities. Abelardo is particularly passionate about advancing holistic rehabilitation strategies for those living with cognitive impairments. As a clinical instructor, he is committed to mentoring the next generation of therapists to approach dementia care with respect, empathy, and clinical excellence.
